On April 29, D&A LLC and LIN LLC signed a merger MOU for their merger at the main conference room of D&A in Donghoon Tower, Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The ceremony was attended by approximately 50 people, including partners from both firms and members of the press. The two firms also agreed to establish a Merger Steering Committee.
The Merger Steering Committee will serve as a consultative body to oversee the merger process and will operate from the date of signing until the completion of the merger registration. It will deliberate on key matters such as the merger structure, decision-making framework, and the name of the merged firm. The committee will consist of one managing partner from each firm and an equal number of representatives, and all decisions will be made by unanimous consent in accordance with the principle of an equal merger.
D&A has strong capabilities in litigation, advisory services, and emerging industries, while LIN has grown based on its expertise in corporate advisory services. Through this merger, the two firms aim to strengthen both litigation and advisory capabilities and further enhance their competitiveness by combining their industry-specific expertise.
D&A Managing Partner Kyu Chul LEE stated, “This integration is a strategic decision to build a new model of a full-service law firm that goes beyond mere expansion in scale, designed to respond to rapidly changing industrial structures and the global environment.”
LIN Managing Partner Lim Jin Seok LIM emphasized, “Based on the innovative DNA of both firms, we will combine our expertise and organizational capabilities to deliver more advanced legal services to domestic and international clients and grow into a market-leading law firm.”
