On November 17, D&A LLC successfully hosted a fireside chat with the 70th U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo at the Valo Park conference room in Washington, D.C, attracting approximately 60 attendees including business leaders, diplomats, and journalists. This marked the first event in which a major Korean law firm invited a former or current high-ranking U.S. government official for a fireside chat.
During the discussion, former Secretary Pompeo emphasized that Korean business leaders should “make very clear the things that are troubling” to the U.S. administration or relevant congressional channels through direct and active engagement. He stressed that if Korean companies believe a particular action taken by the U.S. government is unreasonable, they should express their views in a clear, candid, and realistic manner.
