D&A and the Korea Merchant Association Sign MOU to Revitalize Traditional Markets and Local Economies

On May 28, D&A LLC signed an MOU with the Korea Merchants Association to promote the revitalization of traditional markets and local economies. Under this MOU, D&A plans to provide tailored legal support to small business owners facing business closures or unfair trade practices. 

 

Under the MOU, the Korea Merchants Association will identify small business owners at risk of business closure or suffering from unfair trade practices, while D&A will provide legal advice and assistance in protecting and enforcing their rights. In addition, D&A also plans to support the Association in addressing various legal issues arising in the course of protecting merchants’ rights and promoting local economic revitalization. 

 

The signing ceremony was held at the office of the Korea Merchants Association located within Yeongdong Market in Suwon. Gyeonggi-do. Attendees included Managing Partner Heon Goo KANG and Senior Advisor Bong Hwan CHO from D&A, as well as President Chung Hwan LEE and Secretary General Wan Hee HAN from the Korea Merchants Association. 

 

Managing Partner Heon Goo KANG stated, “This year, D&A is participating in a legal support program for small business owners organized by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Small Enterprise and Market Service. We provide legal advice on issues such as restoration obligations and key money disputes to small business owners preparing for business closure, and support those filing for bankruptcy or rehabilitation proceedings with debt restructuring procedures. In addition, we also offer legal relief support for small business owners who have suffered damages from unfair trade practices, including lease and franchise disputes.”
