D&A Successfully Hosts Webinar on “Current Practice and Trends in Corporate Search and Seizure and Illegally Obtained Evidence”
On April 21, D&A LLC successfully hosted a webinar titled “Current Practice and Trends in Corporate Search and Seizure and Illegally Obtained Evidence.”
Hosted by D&A’s C&C (Criminal & Compliance) Group, the webinar was designed to share key issues and recent practical developments to help companies respond lawfully and effectively to unannounced search and seizure operations by investigative authorities.
The webinar took the form of a panel discussion centered on a hypothetical bribery case, providing a step-by-step analysis of procedural issues that frequently arise during actual investigations. Partners Dhong Joo KIM (Head of the Search and Seizure Support Center), You Lee JUNG, and Mi Ha IM led the session, offering in-depth insights grounded in their extensive practical experience.
In particular, discussions surrounding Attorney-Client Privilege (ACP), which is scheduled to take effect in February 2027 following amendments to the Attorney-at-Law Act, drew significant interest and engagement from participants.
Partner Dhong Joo KIM commented, “Effective response to search and seizure hinges on establishing internal processes in advance and building a robust crisis response system.” He added, “We will remain committed to providing practical, experience-based response strategies that reflect the latest case law and regulatory developments.”
Meanwhile, D&A’s Search and Seizure Support Center operates a 24/7 response system and provides comprehensive support through a team of professionals, including former prosecutors, police officers, and investigators from the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials, as well as forensic experts. Recently, the firm has further strengthened its capabilities by recruiting former prosecutors with extensive experience in public and corporate investigations.
The firm has also built a strong track record by actively responding to unlawful warrant executions from the initial stages of major corporate search and seizure cases, and by closely overseeing the entire seizure process through its dedicated teams.
