Mr. Woo Seok CHOI has joined DR & AJU as a partner in the Tax Team.

Mr. CHOI worked over 19 years at various divisions of the Ministry of Finance and Economy, including Corporate Tax Division, Income Tax Division, Tax Relief Division, Value Added Tax Division, and Customs Policy Division, where he carried out revisions and authoritative interpretations of tax laws. He served as Leader of General Regulation Team at the Tax and Customs Office of the Ministry, overseeing administrative rulings on the interpretation of tax laws. He also served as Research Judge in the Tax Law Group at the Supreme Court of Korea.

Holding key positions at the Ministry of Finance and Economy, including Director of the Public Institutions Policy Bureau and Leader of Regulatory Innovation and Corporate Investment Team, Mr. CHOI handled a broad range of areas, such as public institution policy, corporate regulation, customs, trade and FTA-related matters, and fiscal program evaluation. In addition, he gained extensive experience in legal support and policy-related matters through his roles at the Presidential Secretariat and the National Economic Advisory Council.

At DR & AJU, Mr. CHOI will contribute his expertise across diverse practice areas, including tax advisory, appeals, rulings, and litigation; corporate succession; public agency management strategies; state contracts and fiscal programs; regulatory response; and various civil, criminal, and administrative cases.
