Africa Day 2025 Korea-Africa Business Forum Successfully Hosted with Sponsorship from DR & AJU
The Africa Day 2025 Korea-Africa Business Forum, sponsored by DR & AJU and co-hosted by the African Group of Ambassadors (AGA) in Seoul, the Korea Herald, and The Korea-Africa Foundation, was successfully concluded on May 21 at the Grand Hyatt Seoul in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
This forum was held to commemorate Africa Day (May 25). A total of 500 government officials, businessmen, and diplomatic missions attended the event, exploring practical strategies for expanding economic cooperation between South Korea and Africa.
The forum opened with welcoming remarks by H.E. Chafik Rachadi, Dean of the African Group of Ambassadors in Seoul and Ambassador of Morocco, followed by congratulatory remarks from Park Jong-won, Deputy Minister for Trade at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. The first session featured an in-depth panel discussion on strategic business opportunities, including nurturing African talent, expanding investment in research and development, and strengthening Korea-African cooperation in infrastructure projects. The second session served as a cultural showcase, offering participants the chance to experience African culture through events like a fashion show and traditional African cuisine tasting.
Moderated by H.E. Kais Darragi, Ambassador of Tunisia to Korea, the panel session included a presentation by Timothy Dickens, Foreign Attorney at DR & AJU's Africa Group and Chairman of the South African Chamber of Commerce in Korea. Mr. Dickens outlined effective strategies for Korean companies to enter the African market, and presented practical proposals for collaboration across economic, infrastructure, financial, and cultural sectors—drawing significant interest from the participants.
DR & AJU’s Africa Group will continue to provide strategic legal services to strengthen global partnerships and support the African market.
