DR & AJU Successfully Hosts Webinar on “Proactive Prevention and Reactive Response for Serious Accidents”
On March 5, DR & AJU hosted the webinar on“Proactive Prevention and Reactive Response for Serious Accidents.” This webinar served as a platform to explore practical strategies for Korean companies to more efficiently prevent and respond to serious accidents in the evolving legal landscape following the enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act (SAPA).
Mr. Seung Yoon LEE, a reporter of the Daehan Economy served as the host, while panelists included Mr. Young Kyu KIM, DR & AJU’s Partner and the Head of the Serious Accidents Advisory Group, Mr. Jin Woo JUNG, a professor of Seoul National University of Science and Technology, and Mr. Jin Seol Pok, the Head of Serious Accidents Consulting Department at the Korea Industrial Safety Association. During this webinar, they engaged an in-depth discussion of the legal and practical challenges companies are facing and the solutions to address them.
Mr. Kim from DR & AJU’s Serious Accidents Advisory Group presented practical actions, emphasizing that “Companies must focus on fulfilling essential obligations, including identifying hazardous and risk factors at workplaces and establishing procedures for mitigating those factors.”
DR & AJU’s Serious Accidents Advisory Group is highly competitive in response to the SAPA and the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA). The group offered the SAPA Compliance Certificate (SCC) to about 200 domestic companies, provided consulting services on establishing SAPA response systems to more than half of the top 10 public enterprises, and represented major companies in responding to SAPA and OSHA cases.
