DR & AJU Successfully Hosts Powering Growth: Africa-Korea Untapped Opportunities

To commemorate the inaugural “Korea-Africa Summit” held in Korea on June 4, DR & AJU, the only major domestic law firm operating an Africa Practice Group (PG), successfully hosted the “Powering Growth: Africa-Korea Untapped Opportunities,” the only event organized by a private company for this summit. On this day, the forum attracted over 150 executives and entrepreneurs from 36 African countries, Korean companies, and executives of related agencies.
The forum started with an opening address delivered by Foreign Attorney Mr. Timothy DICKENS, who heads DR & AJU’s Africa PG, followed by a welcome speech from the President of The Korea-Africa Foundation. During the forum, participants explored the current state and business outlook of the energy, infrastructure, and minerals sectors in Africa, and discussed collaboration strategies.
The forum featured four sessions on the African energy sector: 1. Financing Regimes for Domestic Companies Entering Africa’s Market, 2. Current Status and Future Prospects of Pan-African Power Projects, 3. Current Status and Future Prospects of Pan-African Infrastructure Projects, and 4. Current Status and Future Prospects of Pan-African Key Mineral Projects.
Currently, DR & AJU's Africa PG provides one-stop legal services across the African continent, with a particular focus on Sub-Saharan countries, where we have established diverse networks and expertise. We have established partnerships through MOUs with key organizations and companies, including The Korea-Africa Foundation (KAF), KT Engineering, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (KHNP), the Korea Plant Industries Association (KOPIA), and the Korea Trade Insurance Corporation (K-SURE), to offer key business information and advisory services for Korean companies entering the African market.
