DR & AJU’s Foreign Attorney Timothy Dickens Gives Lecture at the 2022 Korea-Africa Business School
DR & AJU LLC announced that Timothy Dickens, a foreign attorney (admitted in the UK and South Africa), gave a lecture at the 2022 Korea-Africa Business School held at KITA Conference Hall at Coex on November 10.
Mr. Dickens, who is a foreign attorney at DR & AJU and Chairman of the South African Chamber of Commerce (SAFCHAM) in Korea, presented the topic of “Expansion into Africa: Risk Hedging Strategy Through Understanding the Legal System,” elaborating five key factors for understanding the legal system in Africa, and the overall legislative system in Africa and the South African legal system.
Mr. Dickens also serves as a member of the International Arbitration Committee of the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board (KCAB), and is currently conducting procedures for international arbitration in Israel and Greece, as well as international arbitration cases of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Seoul.
Meanwhile, DR & AJU’s Africa Team provides advisory services on the establishment of corporations in South Africa, and business entry and expansion in Africa. The team will visit Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa from November 22 to conduct meetings with major financial and construction companies, domestic conglomerates, and relevant organizations. In addition, the team plans to attend K-Lifestyle in Africa 2022 hosted by the Korea-Africa Foundation and KOTRA in Cape Town, where 35 domestic companies and 100 South African companies are joining.
