In the CNK Stock Price Manipulation Scandal, the chairman of CNK International, a resource development company, misled investors by inflating the stock price with false claims about diamond reserves at a Cameroon mine. Kim Eun-seok, the former Energy and Resources Ambassador at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, was indicted for allegedly issuing a press release conveying false information in collusion with the chairman. DR & AJU represented Ambassador Kim in the appellate court, successfully securing an acquittal by having the prosecutor’s appeal dismissed.
