DR & AJU Successfully Holds Webinar on Preventing and Responding to Workplace Bullying and Sexual Harassment

On August 27, DR & AJU successfully held the webinar on Preventing and Responding to Workplace Bullying and Sexual Harassment. As workplace bullying and sexual harassment cases have recently emerged as prominent social issues, the National Assembly is discussing methods to expand the scope of related laws to include freelancers and specially employed workers.

In response to evolving labor policies, DR & AJU Criminal & Compliance (C&C) Division organized a webinar presenting practical response strategies for relevant professionals, including those in human resources, legal affairs, and auditing. The event attracted significant interest, with over 200 applicants, including corporate HR and legal personnel.

The webinar was moderated by Partner Dhong Joo KIM, Head of Group 1 at DR & AJU’s C&C Division, who previously served as Chief Prosecutor at the Pohang Branch of the Daegu District Prosecutors' Office. Panelists included DR & AJU’s Partner Kwang Hyun BACK, who has extensive experience in investigations and corporate advisory, and DR & AJU’s Attorney Youn Hee LEE, who formerly served as law clerk at the Seoul Central District Court and the Seoul High Court. At the event, the panel provided detailed explanations on the criteria for workplace bullying and sexual harassment, as well as measures to effectively prevent such harassment, focusing on specific real-life cases. In addition, they provided in-depth guidance on proper actions to be taken in case of an incident, along with practical considerations regarding relief procedures, offering strategies that can be promptly applied in practice.

Partner Dhong Joo KIM shared his insights, stating, “We hope that this webinar served as an opportunity to identify legal issues and risks associated with workplace bullying and sexual harassment cases, while also providing effective solutions that can be applied in the field from prevention to post-incident response.”
