Mr. Woo Jung JUNG, a former Presiding Judge of the Seoul Northern District Court who previously served as Director General for Public Relations at the Supreme Court, has joined DR & AJU.
Beginning his judicial career at the Uijeongbu District Court in 2004, Mr. Jung served as a judge and a judicial research officer at major courts, including the Supreme Court, for over twenty years.
Mr. Jung is an expert in warrant judgment, having served as a presiding judge in charge of warrant issuance at the Daejeon District Court and Uijeongbu District Court. From 2019 to 2020, he held the position of Director General for Public Relations at the Supreme Court. He also served as a presiding judge in the Medical and Intellectual Property Division at the Seoul Northern District Court.
Notably, during his tenure as a presiding judge at the Seoul Central District Court in 2020, Mr. Jung garnered attention for a ruling that stated, “If a lawyer copies the grounds for appeal submitted by a client and uses them as grounds for a Supreme Court appeal, the client must be reimbursed for the attorney’s fees.” In addition, he served as a Judicial Research Officer at the Supreme Court.
In 2016, he was recognized as an “Outstanding Judge” by the Daejeon District Bar Association during his tenure as presiding judge at the Daejeon District Court.
At DR & AJU, Mr. Jung will serve as a partner for the Criminal & Domestic Litigation Team under the Special Litigation Group, where he will contribute his expertise across various related fields, including Criminal Defense Litigation (Warrants), Domestic Litigation, Finance, and Real Estate.
